There are so many reasons to join a choir, and learning music is just the beginning.

According to research published in Frontiers in Psychology, young people who participate in choirs report:

• Greater emotional regulation and coping skills
• Stronger peer relationships and social connection
• An increased sense of purpose and belonging

At Hamilton Children’s Choir, we see it every week. Children arrive a little nervous, make new friends, find mentors they look up to, and slowly begin to believe in themselves. Before long, choir becomes one of the places they feel most at home.

Every singer starts somewhere. Whether your child loves to sing around the house or already has years of musical experience, we’d love to be part of their journey.

Our programs are available for ages 18 months to 24 years, and financial assistance is available because we believe every child should have the opportunity to experience the joy of singing.

Registration for next season is now open.

Land
Recognition

We recognize the HCC is located on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, the Haudenosaunee, Anishinnabe and Huron-Wendat peoples, covered by the Between the Lakes Treaty (No. 3) between the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the British Crown in 1792. As treaty people on this land, we encourage our community to join us on the continuing journey of learning more about our responsibilities for truth and reconciliation.
